There is a profusion of golf courses in the area. The internationally famous Wentworth Golf Course is very close to the property. Tennis courts, swimming pools and a gymnasium are also part of the Wentworth Club which is also home to the world famous PGA European Tour, the world's second richest professional Golf Tour. There are also other golf courses in nearby Ottershaw, Chobham, Ascot, Sunningdale and Camberley.

Other tennis courts are also situated, together with a football pitch,  on the King George's Fields recreation ground along Crown Road in Virginia Water.

 

Ascot with (Horse-Racing including Royal Ascot) and Smith's Lawn (Polo) are both within a few miles. 
 

The lake at Virginia Water is less than 1 mile away; a 4.5 mile long foot path surrounds the entire lake which is rich in wild life: Complete with a Canadian Totem Pole, it is a popular area for relaxing walks, as is the nearby Savill Garden.


The tourist or local resident with time on his hands will find himself drawn into the Windsor Great Park and will be able to walk right up to the hill, overlooking the Royal Palace. In the opposite direction, Chobham Common is approximately 2 miles away. Thorpe Park and Legoland Windsor are also within a few miles.

 

The residential part of Virginia Water extends from the Lake to the railway station, which is also the location of a well-appointed parade of village shops. The highly exclusive Wentworth Estate, home of media and sports stars, is in Virginia Water as is the world famous Wentworth Golf Course which is frequently televised.
 

Virginia Water is a varied and fascinating place that is well worth taking the time to explore.
